Never Have Ever… read a later book in the a series before reading the first book.

Yes! I read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows first and then started reading the Philosopher’s stone and so on.

Never Have I Ever… burned a book.

Never! Why would anyone want to do that to the preciousssss.

Never have I Ever… read a book I knew I would hate.

If I don’t like a book, I don’t end up reading it so I haven’t read a book that I would hate ’cause I can’t get on with it.

Never Have I ever… wrote a fanfiction about my favourite books.

Maybe. Highschool. Harry Potter. Dramione. Wattpad. Do I need to say more?

Never Have I Ever… loved a book when I was young, yet hated it when I got older.

Not really, I’ve enjoyed all the books that I’ve read when I was young. Most of them were Nancy Drew, Goosebumps and Enid Blyton so no.

Never Have I Ever… dressed up as one of my favourite literary characters.

Yes, at Halloween in university. I dressed up as a witch. I intended to be a Hermione Granger but turned to be more of a wicked witch with lots of eyeliner.

Never Have I Ever… hated a book by an author I love.

Okay so don’t get me wrong. I love Sarah. J. Maas. but what was A Court of Frost and Starlight. I expected so much more than just a novella. Hopefully the next book will give us answers.

Never Have I Ever… gone into a bookstore to buy one book and come out with many more.

Most of the time. I go inside for a specific book and come out with new releases.

Never Have I Ever… read the ending of a book before reading the beginning.

Never. I don’t do well with spoilers. If I do read the ending then anxiety will kill me as to why things aren’t going as planned.

Never Have I Ever… read a book without the dust cover.

Always. It’s annoying and it comes off when I read and back on when I’m done.

Never Have I Ever… skim read nearly half a book.

Yes, practically all the Twilight books. Bella’s monologues were too intense to read so I skipped a lot!

Never Have I Ever… pretended to have read a book that I haven’t.

Nope, I usually just ask for a review if I haven’t read it and if someone has so I know if I’ll read it or no.

Never Have I Ever… saw the movie before the book.

Sometimes. I try not to though. I prefer reading the book and then watching the movie.

Never Have I Ever… had a book boyfriend.

Umm, yes. Rhysand from ACOTAR. Jacob from Twilight. Draco from Harry Potter.

Never Have I Ever… read a history book or anthropology book for fun.

Never. I cannot do historical books. I was bad at it even when I was in school.

My new prompt: Never Have I Ever… used random things as bookmarks.

All the time, tissue papers, boarding pass, bits of paper or receipts. Anything that is available that can be used as a bookmark.

The Currently Reading Book Tag

A few days ago, while browsing some blogs, I came across the Netflix Book Tag on Becky’s Book Blog and I just had to try it out!

It’s been forever since I’ve done a book tag so let’s jump right in.

How to get out of a reading slump?

We all have good reading days and bad readings days. What do you do when the bad ones just keep going on?

We, bookworms, sometimes stumble in bad times when, as much as we try, we can’t seem to read. Lots of lovely books that need reading on our to-be-read shelf, new books releasing every day, but we can’t seem to read. Yep, those are the worst days!

10 Book pet peeves that bookworms will understand

If you’re a bookworm like me then you know what I’m suggesting with the title. We would love nothing more than to keep reading a book all day every day, but it totally annoys us when someone who isn’t so much a book lover makes it difficult for us.

Paperbacks vs Kindle

In an age where technology is taking over most of the print media, we still have books. Be it school books, fiction or non-fiction, books are still being published.

I have been an avid reader since I was taught to spell. The love just grew from 25 pages to 50 pages to 100 pages to 300 and 600 and it goes on. During my school days, I’ve been caught with storybooks under my chemistry or physics books multiple times. Any regrets? None whatsoever.

I’ve been hoarding books since I can remember but recently by family gifted me a kindle as a graduation present. I’ve been torn between paperbacks and ebooks since then. Here’s my list of pros and cons for each.

Pottermore Sorting

Back when all Potterheads were given the amazing portal that was Pottermore, I like everybody, signed up for it and played on it for hours and hours. Trying to perfect a potion or get the perfect arc for a spell was the only thing I could think of.

Then life happened and I lost track of what was happening on Potter. Recently, while reading articles I came across an article by The Little Contemporary Corner on Pottermore Sorting and I decided to give it a try.

Why I love reading YA Fantasy so much…

To be honest, I’ve been stuck in the downward spiral of not being able to either read or write. Call it a writer’s block and a reader’s block or whatever. I just can’t seem to get out of these blocks. For a person who finishes reading a book in 2 days, I genuinely take about 2 weeks to finish a book now. I know it’s depressing, but it is what it is.

Hermione Granger’s character change..

How is Hermione Granger’s character changed from the book to the corresponding scenes in the film to create a more feminist character? Continue reading “Hermione Granger’s character change..”

Vulnerability of a Superhero

Oh, look! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s Superman! We all know about superheroes, whether it was through comic books, or watching them in films or then most recently, TV shows. Superheroes are so strong and invincible and indestructible, yadda yadda, yadda, but do we ever think about superheroes having a weak side. They are humans after all! Okay, they have awesome powers, but they are still human right… sort of… maybe? Continue reading “Vulnerability of a Superhero”
